- The weight of the dog can be determined by measuring it around the waist, when we do not have a scale or the dog does not allow us to verify it accurately. You can also use the static weight of the dog from the table below. There are also tips to help you determine your weight by measuring your chest circumference:
- Dog from 1.5 kg to 3.5 kg 34-40 cm
- Dog from 3.5kg to 6.6kg 39-49cm
- Dog from 6.5kg to 14kg 47-62cm
- Dog from 14.5kg to 35kg 62-84cm
Nature sometimes makes our dogs bigger than others or smaller, it’s already a selection of gene selection, eg when the parents of a given breed are of small build and weight, there is a good chance of getting a dog smaller than the parents. Or when the parents of a given breed are larger in structure and weight, it is possible to obtain an offspring with even more weight than the given breed shows us. That’s why we sometimes meet larger Yorkies or smaller Maltese. There are also breeds that were consciously obtained by breeding up to a certain size, such as Spitz. We distinguish:
- Samoyed
- Wolf Spitz
- Japanese Spitz
- Miniature Spitz (Pomeranian)
Also recently we can often meet toy poodles, which are the smallest of the poodle breeds. We distinguish:
- Great King Poodle
- Medium Poodle
- Miniature Poodle
- Toy Poodle
